BeMyEye places a high value on kindness, integrity and honesty, and we look for members of the crowd who will be reflective of that. Our Code of Conduct exists to make sure you know exactly what to expect as an Eye.
Before a mission
- Count your pennies
Unless a mission is within walking distance of your location, you may have to use a form of transport to get there, which of course comes at a price. We strongly recommend that you consider this before embarking on far away missions, as they may not end up cost effective.
- Be ready
As much as we’d like every mission to be one and done, that isn’t always the case. If there’s an issue with your first audit, we’ll always give you a chance to try again and get your payment.
- The price is right
You may have noticed that when selecting a mission, you can see a range of possible payouts if your audit is approved. This isn’t here to mislead you - the payment you receive depends on a number of variables from our clients themselves. Please be aware that your final figure could be on either end of the price spectrum.
During a mission
- Safety first
No mission is worth your health. Make sure that you’re keeping an eye on your surroundings and following the recommended safety measures in any store you visit.
- Remain incognito
Missions must be carried out incognito unless explicitly stated otherwise.
This means that you should not ask permission to take pictures, but discreetly try to take photos without being seen. If a shopkeeper asks you why you are taking pictures, you can initially try to say that you are sending the photo to a friend asking for confirmation of a specific product.
If the shopkeeper insists on forbidding you to take photographs or in case of further problems you can then explain the nature of the activity and the name of the company.
- Be understanding
It’s crazy to think that not everybody knows about the magic of BeMyEye, right? We place our missions based on the product, not the store, so staff may be confused as to what you’re doing. Be friendly with your explanation and there should be no problem at all.
After a mission
- Patience is key
The results of all your missions are checked over by real people, so can’t be approved instantly. Usually, approval takes less than 24 hrs, but in some exceptional cases can take up to 72 hrs. We’re always striving to cut this time down, but please be mindful that there is some delay.
- Accuracy is everything
We pride ourselves on the fact that we offer data that’s 98% accurate. We couldn’t do this without you, but it means that we have to be tough with our approval criteria. Not every mission will be accepted, but plenty will. Even if an audit seems fine to you, there are some complexities that could invalidate it. This is the nature of what we do and bear in mind that we discard all data from incomplete and rejected missions.
- No cheaters allowed
Please only use the app as intended. If not we will sadly have to take the decision to remove some Eyes from our platform.
Our ‘Fraud’ team is on top of any anomalies when it comes to how missions are completed.
We are constantly making sure our Eyes use our app as intended, so we play things fairly, but also that we reward only our honest users. When someone is trying to cheat and complete missions in a fraudulent way it's a waste of our time and money, but it’s also preventing honest Eyes from booking these missions.
- We want to pay you
Approved missions are just as beneficial for us as they are for you. When you get that green checkmark, we’re more than happy to send over your payment. That said, we’re at the mercy of payment platforms such as Paypal. We will always pay for completed missions, so if there’s an issue with getting your money, it’s not from our side.
- Kindness is King
If you have any questions or concerns, our support staff are here to help. They’ll do their best to resolve your query, but it’s important to remember that they’re humans, too. If you show any unnecessary aggression towards our team, we reserve the right to remove and ban you from the platform.
